I was born and live in Australia and it's been a life-long dream to travel to Ireland and see all of it, and by all, I mean all. Unfortunately, my work, finances, and family duties prohibit this.
This project originated September 2011 when, faced with four weeks holiday and nothing to do, I searched for an outlet. I found Google Street View. In the early 1990s I'd planned a comprehensive tour that was eventually cancelled and armed with this itinerary, I headed off on my tour but I found myself wanting to skip ahead... there was too much I wanted to see.
Each post is accompanied by GPS coordinates and a link to Google Maps, where I encourage you to explore the sites yourself. Street View is allowing us to go through ancient castles and grand forts, around national monuments and through the most beautiful landscapes.
That's how this blog came into being. Random places, important places, beautiful places... Ireland is like no other. Ireland is my heart.
